# Proposals & contracts

Source: https://www.meadowdesk.com/features/proposals-and-contracts

Proposal and contract software for freelancers: templates with packages and add-ons, a private link to accept, and e-signed contracts with a signed PDF.

Send a proposal your client can say yes to, then a contract they can sign. One private link for each, and one record for both.

## Proposals built from your own templates

Start from a template in your library instead of a blank page. Lay out the scope, then offer packages at different prices and optional add-ons the client can choose. Every proposal can be adjusted for the client in front of you.

- Templates: Your own proposal library
- Packages: Options at different prices
- Add-ons: Optional extras the client picks

## A private link your client can answer

Each proposal has its own private link. Your client reads it, picks a package and any add-ons, then accepts, declines or asks for changes. You can see when it's been opened, so you know when to follow up.

- Link: Private, one per proposal
- Response: Accept, decline or ask for changes
- Tracking: See when it's been viewed

## Contracts drafted in blocks, tied to the work

Draft contracts in a block builder, one clause at a time. Each contract is linked to the client, the project and the proposal it came from, so the paperwork sits right next to the job.

- Builder: Draft in blocks, clause by clause
- Linked: To client, project and proposal
- Status: Draft, out for signature, signed

## E-signature, countersigned and filed

Send the contract through a private link, or let your client sign it in their portal. Once they've signed, you add your countersignature. You both get a signed PDF with a signing certificate.

- Sign: By private link or in the portal
- Countersign: You sign after your client
- Record: Signed PDF with a signing certificate

## Proposal and contract questions

**Can clients sign proposals and contracts online?**
Clients accept proposals through a private link. Contracts are e-signed, through their own private link or in the client portal, and you countersign once they have.

**Do clients need an account to accept a proposal?**
No. The private link is all they need to read the proposal, choose a package and respond. If they use your client portal, it's waiting there too.

**Can clients choose between packages?**
Yes. Offer packages at different prices, plus optional add-ons. The client picks what suits them before accepting, and you see exactly what they chose.

**Will I know when a proposal has been opened?**
Yes. View tracking shows when the client has opened the proposal, so you can follow up at a sensible moment instead of guessing.

**What do I get once a contract is signed?**
A signed PDF with a signing certificate, filed against the client, the project and the proposal it came from.
